Casablanca, a 1942 American romantic film directed by Michael Curtiz, starring by Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. The setting is during the second world war in Casablanca, people who try to escape from French army or being blacklisted were stay in Casablanca but also finding ways to leave Casablanca and go to America. The Cafe owner Rick came to Casablanca was because to escape French army, before he was decide to escape somewhere else with Ilsa, but she had some hidden secrets and she couldn't leave with Rick.

The structure of the whole film is not linear since the director added other scenes with different time and location. At the beginning, the film briefly mention the settings and the main characters of the film and chronology talk about what happen next, but then there are a few breaks in chronology indicated, like when talking about the present when Rick meet Ilsa, it add a flashback when they are in Paris
The present

Rick met Ilsa again one day in Casablanca, but with her husband, which made Rick heartbroken.

The past

And then Rick start to have some flashback about him and Ilsa some lovely moment in Paris, and also the memory that Ilsa leave a note which told him that she was not able to leave Paris with him.

The equilibrium is Rick went to Casablanca and then ran the Cafe that he own, everyday have different guests come to enjoy themselves. And the disruption is that Ilsa came and met rick again which made Rick feeling complicated and started to face many difficulties.

Ricks  is the character of hero in the film, while Ilsa's husband was being chased by the super police, he helped Ilsa in order to let her husband may able to leave Casablanca with her but also sacrificed his love with Ilsa. And then started a new equilibrium, which Rick successfully helped Ilsa and her husband to escape and Rick was keep staying in Casablanca. There is a closure in the film which Rick help them escape from the super police and they started a new life in somewhere, also Rick kept living in Casablanca.

It is such a pity that Rick and Ilsa are not able to live together and "happily ever after", the main reasons are Ilsa already got married with her husband and Rick though Ilsa may get in danger if Ilsa follow him.
